About Us:
The British Council builds connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and other countries through arts and culture, education and the English language.
Since 1946, British Council Scotland has been fostering cultural and educational links with other countries creating mutual understanding and respect. Our work in higher education and science extends and strengthens the connections between the UK, including Scotland and other countries.
This includes:
working with governments in the UK and overseas to identify mutually beneficial areas for collaboration, remove barriers and facilitate partnerships and mobility between higher education sectors.
Working with institutions in Scotland and overseas to enable the exchange of learning and ideas and the formation of partnerships that benefit individuals, the institutions themselves and wider society.
Promoting Scottish education internationally and creating opportunities for students, researchers, and academics to come to Scotland and for their counterparts to live, study and collaborate overseas.
Our support to the Connected Scotland partnership includes the deployment of our global network of education teams to support international missions and the provision of research, funding, and global insights.
